{family: the davis family}

You may remember Nicholas from this shoot. His mom asked me to do Christmas pictures for their family. They wanted to do something to represent Wilmington and also have a little Christmas look to it. Downtown is already decorated for Christmas so we knew that's where we wanted to go. Talk about a photogenic family! My hope is to be able to document new families each year and keep in touch and see them grow and change. I also love getting their cards, *wink wink*. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

I have been waiting for this engagement shoot all summer! Fall is my favorite time of year and I was excited to get out in the country and take pictures around my favorite area in Knightdale, NC. Hannah and I grew up together and she is like my adopted younger sister, or i should say, I'm her adopted older sister. I can't believe she's getting married next year! We spent our time running all over Raleigh and Knightdale (and visiting my hubby's grandparents of course). They live in Knightdale and their land is amazing in the fall. It reminds me of where we grew up. It was also funny how so many animals ended up being a part of our shoot. I really love the results from this session.

This is what it's really about to me. Finding locations that truly speak to who you are as a couple and capturing special moments between the two of you in these romantic spots. And just letting the setting be the setting and coming out with photos you'll treasure for a lifetime.

We came upon these amazing turkeys at one of the locations and Nickoli was a bit scared. So we made him feed them :) It was quite comical. I think I heard a high pitch scream in there somewhere.

I could only get one frame of them sitting near the turkeys because they were getting a little too close for his comfort. Happy Thanksgiving!

What do you do now that the sun is setting so early and you're pushed for time? Have the quickest session ever! Brent and Deanne are wonderful friends and it was time for some Christmas pictures! Getting caught by the bridge on Wrightsville Beach is no fun but such a reality when you live in this town. When we were finally able to meet up at the beach, it was snap, snap, snap! But the sun did not disappoint with a great sunset. It's such a beautiful part of Wilmington. Now I'll be patiently waiting for my card (wink).
