{personal: puppies!}
So I have one item checked off my list so far! Lucy just had puppies 2 days ago! She did an amazing job. We have 4 boys and 3 girls. They are the cutest things and I've had such a hard time putting them down long enough to get some work done. They all nuzzle up to one another to keep warm and get some milk from mom and then fall asleep right where they are all lined up. And their little baby squeaks are irresistible. They won't open their eyes for a week. I should be enjoying this quiet time while Mama Lou does everything because before long they'll be running around in 7 different directions!

{senior pictures: chelsea b}
I love this family! Their mom, Sonya, is very near and dear to my heart. Her oldest daughter, Chelsea, is graduating from high school this year so it was time for some Senior pictures! Sonya also wanted to do pictures with Chelsea and her two youngest sisters which was a lot of fun. I have such a heart for teenage girls since I remember very clearly how hard it was to be that age. These girls are beautiful and are a ball of energy! Dad, you better have your shotgun ready, if you know what I mean. This is the first child to fly the nest for the Bumgarners. I can't imagine how hard it must be to let go. As you'll see below, it's not going very well! We were also threatened by rain but thankfully it held off. But little did we know there was another threat lurking at our shoot.
{trip to the peony farm, part 1}
Nanci's family, who I work with, own a Peony farm outside of Burlington. I HAD to go visit it and see this fantastical sounding place. So I hit the road and stayed in Raleigh with my friend Becca and then we took off to find this Peony farm. We kept venturing into this beautiful country land and I wanted to buy the first farm house I saw! I've written an article for Our State Magazine on this farm and I couldn't wait to put pictures with my words! Nanci's dad and sister, Heather, harvest the flowers each year in May with help from some faithful women who also help them harvest. It was quite a beautiful place and we found it hard to leave. Our little new friends also made it hard for us to leave.
Nanci's dad's farm house at the top of the hill! Reminds me of Michael's grandparent's house.
"the office"
Lord, help me, I can't remember his name but he was cute!
The giant walk-in cooler where the flowers are kept.
Our cute little friends.
